United Way of the Yampa Valley

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

We are excited to share some news that will undoubtedly profoundly impact the communities we serve. The Moffat County United Way and Routt County United Way Boards of Directors will merge to form one organization, United Way of the Yampa Valley, effective September 1, 2023.

This decision was made after careful consideration and collaboration between representatives from both entities. Our collective aim is to provide the best support and services to the communities of Routt, Moffat, and Rio Blanco counties, closing gaps and opening opportunities for all. By combining resources, expertise, and networks, United Way of the Yampa Valley will be better equipped to foster positive change and create lasting solutions for our community.

The newly formed United Way of the Yampa Valley will uphold the mission shared by both organizations: to advance the common good in the Yampa Valley by improving education, strengthening financial stability, and promoting community well-being. This merger presents numerous opportunities to expand support and services, allowing us to make an even more significant impact.

Our combined staff and board members are already engaging in meaningful conversations and planning sessions to ensure the success of this merger. Our immediate focus is on joint committee work, enabling us to work seamlessly from the beginning. We are incredibly excited about the potential to improve the lives of individuals and families in Northwest Colorado and provide better support to the local agencies doing remarkable work in our communities.

In addition to this merger, we are delighted to inform you that we will launch our fall campaign as a unified entity to raise funds for our communities. By working together, United Way of the Yampa Valley will be better equipped to address the region’s evolving needs and maximize the positive outcomes of our collective efforts.

We are also pleased to announce that Kate Nowak, the current Director of Routt County United Way, will assume the role of Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the merged organization. Most existing new job opportunities will be available within the expanded organization. We encourage individuals passionate about making a difference in the Yampa Valley community to apply for open positions.

This period of growth and opportunity promises an exciting future for everyone involved in the United Way of the Yampa Valley.

Please note that Routt and Moffat County United Way offices, mailing addresses, and phone numbers will remain the same, ensuring a smooth transition and uninterrupted communication with our valued donors like yourself. Click here for contact information.
