Meet ALICE: Shining a Light on Financial Hardship in Colorado
Did you know that 1 in 3 Coloradans struggle to afford essentials like housing, childcare, and healthcare? Despite resilience, many families across our state face tough financial realities every day.
United Way organizations across Colorado, in partnership with Ent Credit Union and United For ALICE, have released a groundbreaking study to better understand these challenges. The ALICE Report goes beyond traditional poverty measures, providing county-by-county data on the financial hardships experienced by households that include our everyday heroes: teachers, nurses, police officers, firefighters, and more.
What the ALICE Report Reveals:
- The cost of living often exceeds the earnings of those in vital, low-paying jobs.
- Many households are unable to afford necessities like housing, food, childcare, healthcare, and transportation.
- This data highlights systemic gaps and barriers that must be addressed to build a stronger, more equitable Colorado.
